Need leaf springs but confused..please help noobie
Are the rear shackles that bolt up to the leaf springs supposed to pivot or are they supposed to remain stationary? Because If they are supposed to stay stationary I'm thinking maybe my mounting bolt just came loose and I'll be able to straighten out my rear shackle and re-tighten it to keep it away from the frame. Any input?
what brand is the lift?
those springs are longer springs than normal.
the correction for them is to run a boomerang shackle. Trek offroad has them. but it will lift it a bit more.
also, it looks like those springs are military wrapped (second spring wraps around the "eyes" of the main spring on one or both ends)
I would not be replacing those if it's not sagging, or is only a bit lower than the front. boomerang shackles are the way to go.

The truck is sitting level, does not sag at all...I will post more pics tonight after I get home from work...would just a set of longer shackles work? And are the shackles supposed to pivot or stay stationary?
The jeep is in fact lifted 6" (I've measured and confirmed) and was told by the previous owner that it was a Rough Country lift but the shocks are all black with no name or writing on them so I can't 100% confirm that because I'm not sure. There is a warning sticker from Rough Country in the door jam but that's all.

is it possible the po put the springs in backwards? I seem to remember a friend of mine doing that on an old blazer and it ate the bushings out of the eyes.
