my trailer hitch is tearin the bottom out of my unibody. i obviously have to fix it. no idea how. anyone delt with this or has anybody built anysort of a frame to replace the unibody in the back half a xj. i need some ideas before this gets any worse.

 

I welded some 2''x3/16'' angle iron to the frame and basically bolted the hitch to that.

 

i would use c channel if possible to go around the whole unibody

 

Yea i would box the rear of the unibody if you do alot of towing

 

i cant decide if i wanna go over the unibody or cut it out and build someting to replace. cause its torn up pretty bad and has alot of rust. im thinkin basically use some heany angle iron to and weld it to the old unibody and add some way to also tie it into the body it self. i just hope that i can build it back strong enough.
