Default Need Help for sure

My son inlaw is changing out his NP231 TC (someone rear ended him and messed it up) from his 1994 cherokee with his NP 242 TC from his 89 cherokee and for some reason the 242 will not go on the tranny output shaft. Both TC's are from an 4.0 auto trans so is there any reason why this wont fit. Thank in advance...Tj

First the 89 will have a 21 spline and the 94 will have a 23 spline.

Now your not at a lose, split both t-cases and swap the inputs.

It's that simple..
