Need help no headlights, cant see ! :-(
Hi, so 4am the other morning i start her up and have no headlights, hmm 25 miles on side lights in pitch black.......nice.
the fuse is good, wasnt sure where the relay was but did some playing around with the switch and managed to get headlights momentarily when pulling on, pushing off the switch. i cant however get them to stay on. i guess the switch is knackered - its a 4.0 94 limited by the way, ive had the dash facia out & the clocks out but i still cant get to the switch to take it out ? how do i access it ? how does it come out ? and which relay are the main beams on ? worst case i might just put an extra switch in and link it with the relay for now.
thanks !

update - managed to get switch out at last, one contact looks like its starting to burn out, the switch is a sealed unit so icant really get in there and sort it out. im thinking replace, however ive just seen some people after searching on net saying that sometimes when the switch is playing up its not actually the switch ?

update. again. i know i know sorry !
for now ive wiggled a few things around - the switch - and i guess the switch relay, is that the small metal box sitting under the switch in the dash ? it was making a right racket whilst i was trying to get the switch to work so i moved that around a bit too and it all started working, now im thinking that maybe the relay has caused my switch contact to start burning out ? should i get a new relay first or a new switch ?
thanks Ant

You may want to check the wire harness in the front. usually under the air box on the drivers side. I have seen the connection there rot out. Also check the actual connection to the headlight, some times those get a little gummed up, or loose.
