Need help naming this part
That is not a crack. That part is called tie rod adjusting sleeve. It's pretty much a piece of metal rolled up. When you tighten down the nuts, it clamps down on the tie rods.

Best way to find the noise is have a friend help you. That particular part has nothing to do with when you give it gas. If you have something loose in your suspension, have a buddy jump up and down on your bumper while you lay under it and locate the sound. Welcome to Cherokee Forum!

If I had a part "crack" and it was as straight as that, I'd be extremely impressed lol.
But yeah, that's normal. I'd be looking elsewhere for the source of your noise. Maybe source some help from someone a bit more knowledgeable if that's possible.
