Hi I'm replacing the trans mount on my 98 4cyl with manual trans. There is only one type of mount listed for the jeep cherokee 84-01 and it is not the right one. Here's what I have.

 

Need some help identifying this tranny mount!

 

I dont know if this helps but that looks similar to a liberty transmission mount. They are called cherokees in other countries so you might have your canadian cherokee confused with the american cherokee. Only problem is the liberty started in 2002 when the xj was discontinued. I did a quick look on Rock Auto, and looked at 1998, and the 4 cyl/manual lists a different mount than the 6 cyl/auto, for example. Not sure if it's the one you need, but I'm just saying that 84-01 mounts are not all listed as the same.

None of the other mounts listed under 98 cherokee, 4cyl or 6, auto or manual are correct. Also checked with local parts place and the according to there computer I should have same mount rockauto lists for the 98 4cyl with manual tranny

 

Is it gas or diesel ?

There should be more than 1 listed tranny mount for XJs. From 84-99 they should be the same but anything 00-01 is going to be different. It will be more centered if I remember correctly. You might have purchased one for the later years.

Aiiii. So there is only one available in Canada for 186.00 or can possibly get one at molar part site for 133.00. These cannot be my only options though, any help? The place that can get the 186.00 mount recommended I talk to the Jeep Doctor (local shop), I'll be calling back there tmrw

 

Only place I found it was dealer ...Or junkyard .....
