Default need help finding gear ratio.

i have 87 xj aw4 trans (auto) np231 t case
Dana 44 rear dana 30 front disco this jeep came from california originally, i am the second owner. i want to know what gear ratios i have for front and rear.......also need to know what splines on outputs are like trans and tcase....
Really wanna know if i can rn my vin for free to get build sheet or something...
just curious because i have heardsome 44s come 3.73 and if thats the case i would think the front matches and ill run them for mow instead of re gear....i dont knw if it helps but this xj came stock with the gas tank skid, front skid and what looks like an extra belly skid...thanks guys.

i just read here it may have 30 spline axles in the 44 and 3.73 ratio....i know that doesnt mean the dana 30 up front has 30 spline axles but shouldnt the front ratio match if the rear has 3.73 stock? i just always heard you need front and rear ratios to match so i figure jep would do that. any help with facts is appreciated.

Engine size would be a factor in determining this as well I believe.

Go to the Chry. website and request a build sheet with your vin. yes it is free.

Get us the numbers off the tag on the rear for the ratio.

either 3.07s, 3.55s or 3.73s (though 3.73s are unlikely). easiest way is to pull the cover, and the ratio will be stamped on the ring gear. just divide the first number by the last number.

well my jeep has the factory tow package so i figured it is likely it has the 3.73 ratio...so i just go to the site and send email to who or is there somewhere onthere to request build sheet?
