Default need help bad?

So I had this really bad knock. Decided to change the rod bearings. The top halfs were mostly copper. So, I did everything, and now my knock is worse, and louder, only when you give it gas. I havn't driven it yet, and I'm about to take the oil pan off again to check everything out. Does anyone have a clue of how I can fix this?

I did the rear main seal also....

Rod bearings, bottom half said "std" on the back and top said ".001" I am replaceing them with all "std".

Any ideas?

Dude, someone has been there before you. You better mic the journals before you go any further.

"Someone" tried to tighten up the slack by using .001" undersize bearings on the uppers only. That obviously makes an elliptical, rather than round shape. That's why the uppers were wiped clean. You should mike the journals and get the correct size bearings. Standards are obviously the wrong size. You can use plasti-gauge and with the standard bearings in place, check your clearance as it now sits. Never mis-match bearings. JMO
