hey guys im new to the whole jeep thing so here i go. just got a 99 cherokee sport with the 4.0. guy said it was over heating. i replaced the thermo and put a new water pump on it. flushed out the black and heater core. its not getting heat and it is bubbling back up to the overflow. the water in the radiator is not warm after it runs... someone said there are two water pumps?? a reverse and foward? i got the pump that has the R stamped on it. and the belt goes under the pump and turns it counter clockwise. it just dont seem rite the way the propeller is spinning. shoot me some answers cuz in lost !! thanks guys

i was told there are two different ones for that motor. the reverse and the foward? i know i have the reverse on it right now

 

never heard of that did you compare it to the old one ive had mine 15 years 4 water pumps never been asked that question

 

its the same one as the new i put on. the belt runs under the pullie and turns it counter clockwise. is that correct? thats only thing we can think of that would allow the propellr to turn the right way

 

there should be a pic of the belt routing under the hood

 

yeah we double checked it like 10 times. just cant figure out why its not gettin heat and it keeps bubblin up into the overflow

yeah rad is pretty new. and that pic of the belt u posted is a lil different then what i got. theres no idler beside the a/c
