Hi, I'm new to all this so please help me along.
I found some one who has a 96 xj that said I can pick parts from. But, I need to know if it's comparable with my 99. Like the hood and interior? Are 96's and older different?

The seats might work cause '96 does have air bags so the way the base is set up might be the same.
From what I understand while the hoods are a little different in '96 and down from '97 and up they will work.
I believe the gap is different. Might have a little more or little less of a gap. Can't remember which.
Thinking the rest of the interior won't really work despite how a lot of it looks very similar but....
Also there is the matching the color thing if you care about that.
And if you do then for the interior you will want the donor to be '99 to '01.

there was a big update between 95 to 97 with 96 being a transition year
If I had completely free reign and space, and it was cheap, I would take the complete driveline, with all OEM sensors (may or may not have same plugs as yours)
Front and rear axles complete, Wheels and tyres if good, brake booster and master cyl, maybe some steering parts, any good suspension mods, front drive shaft
If you are crafty, and you know the computer is working, take that and sell it on Ebay, '96 are unique to that year

My '96 has been donating parts to my '98 & '99, a WJ & even a KJ (although what, I can't remember) over the years. The most obvious differences are the most obvious: grille, etc, interior, liftgate, & tail lights. The trans is really sneaky, 'cos they have the same numbers. Another part that looks the same, but isn't, is the parking brake lever. Then there are parts that look different but are actually the same, e.g. power seat switches. Some parts are different, but interchangeable, like front sheet metal & doors. Much of the electrics just have different connectors - which may, or may not, be an issue. Of course the wiring colour changes from time to time (how I miss British Standard wiring) but more of a challenge is when the number of wires changes.
The 1996 Jeep Cherokee (XJ) and the 1999 Jeep Cherokee (XJ) are quite similar in terms of their overall design and many of their parts. However, there may be some differences between the two model years, especially when it comes to specific components or features. I also would like to help you, if you are not so good at choosing the best essay writer then you can simply visit https://letsgradeit.com/review/trustmypaper/ here where you can easily read reviews for online essay writing services. I am also using that website to find the best essay writer for myself.
