Default Need a headliner as my 90 has nothing.

When I bought my 90 xj it had NO headliner at all.
The entire headliner is missing .
Ive read thru all the DIY on how to reupholster a headliner but does anybody have any info on how to make a headliner from scratch ?

You need the backing from a jy xj strip it and glue new material on pretty straight forward..

The material can be had on ebay for pretty cheap with the glue so you just need to get the back like stated. If you go this route, get an extra can of adhesive because it takes about 1.5 cans. Unless you find a backing that still has the material in good shape then just install it, pretty easy to do, helps to have an extra hand but I did it by myself.

Making a headliner from scratch that looks OEM would not be easy (understatement). Best off to the JY if that is what you want.

If you haven't already, you can search, probably best in modified tech or Google, for all sorts of ideas for alternative headliner treatments.

Best bet is the junkyard like everyone else said. Making one from scratch would be a pain.

Thats what I assumed. I dont have one to go off of and have no idea if the edges are contoured or flat and thats the main reason why I asked. I initially assumed I could build one out of masonite but after looking thru headliner pictures realized that would be difficult.

Time to call the JY .

Thanx all
