Did you use a torque wrench or just crank down on it in a very manly way?Originally Posted by BigTonyOfDC

Time to make a trip to the junk yard...
Unfortunately, in a manly way, lol. Got a new housing for $10 at advance, they have 3 great coupons right now, like $40 off $110, $25 off $70, and $10 off $30... got a new belt and radiator hoses.
Next issue, broken bolt in water pump! Again, no torque wrench used, the last one popped while tightening it... I've hit it with PB blaster a few times, but it still wont budge, about 1/8" of the bolt is left, I'll let it soak and then try the vice grips, pliers weren't budging it. Any other suggestions? (I know, use a torque wrench to tighten next time, got that!)

if you can squeeze the gun in there...weld a nut to it. If the vice grips fail.Originally Posted by BigTonyOfDC

Great idea, I'll be jumping back on the jeep in a few days, time for a family vacation.
Is welding something "easy" to pick up on the fly? And for this type of job, what would I need? I have a Harbor Freight local to me. Hopefully the vice grips will help, but I'm thinking if I cranked it in too much, that might make things tougher.
