Need Electrical Help!
I've been having trouble with the brake lights on my xj since I got it a few weeks back. The brake, dash, and hazard lights don't come on. I tried the fuse and discovered that the fuse kept blowing as soon as I turned power to it so then I tested the switch only to find that it was blown too. After checking the rear passenger side first I worked my way around to the driver side. I have pinned it to somewhere between the back and the dash on the driver side. This is my first attempt at anything like this, and now I've realized that, while I know how to look for the problem in theory, I'm not too sure what the problem looks like. Where or what does my short look like? All I can see is the bundle all wrapped up in electrical tape. Should I start unwinding it all the way down or might it a common problem for it to rub in a particular spot causing it to short?
I'm using my break at work to write this so don't mind the grammar.
