trying to get my ac going. Never worked since I bought the XJ. When I changed the heater core I also changed the evaporator. Also have new accumulator. Added the recommended amount of oil per FSM. Pulled vacuum down and let sit for a few hours. No leaks. Jumped the low pressure switch to make sure the compressor and clutch would engage. Which it did. Reconnected lp switch and began adding Freon. Unless I am wrong, system holds 20 oz of Freon. As I added the Freon compressor was cycling. As I got new the end of the Freon the compressor refused to engage. Low pressure seems high and high pressure seems low to me but I’m no expert. Ambient temp was around 83-85. Lp was about 80 as was hp. Any suggestions as how to resolve would be appreciated.
