So I was all excited to take my Jeep out to WV to do some wheeling. Then on the way there the trans started puking fluid out the front. I don't think it agreed with the hills on the freeway, threw the codes P0700 & P0740. It has also always rattled like crazy above 3k rpm. Anyway I'm thinking I need to replace front main seal, front pump seal, front pump bushing, hopefully not the torque converter? But I'm having trouble finding info on what the difference is between the these seals, as well as where I can find them (part #'s, proper names for the parts, etc). I've also never tried to pull a trans before so any advice on that would be helpful as well. Oh and this is a rebuild Jasper trans with about 50K (I think) on it. I can't afford the labor charges of a shop so this is going to have to be done by myself.

How long ago did you buy the trans? Jasper has an 3 year 100K mile warranty

Trans has been in more than 3yrs. I didn't have it done but the PO did, I was thinking something was done wrong when they installed it. I see no reason why a re-build and fairly young transmission should leak like this.

Overheating will make a Trans puke from the vent or front seal. A p0740 is an indicator that the torque converter has a problem and is probably not locking up causing a ton of heat on the highway. They are not that easy to take out.

Does the torque converter not locking up by any chance also cause a rattle/vibration over 3k rpm? And from what I can tell it's only leaking out the front.

The CEL went off since I added fluid but it is most definitely still leaking. Drove it back to MD today (smoked like a b**ch on the really big hills) and I have a lovely film of ATF all over my back hatch...

Torque converters can rattle and vibrate but usually it will be at any rpm. Sounds like you need to pull the trans and rebuild with a new converter.
