Nates 4x4 bumper
Hey yall, just a shout out to/for Nates. I ordered their front bumper with the brushguard top and shackles. I got it in about 4 or 5 days, painted it up (it came as bare sheet metal). I just put it on yesterday. Although the bolts in my steering box broke, causing a bit of a problem (mostly getting them out) the whole project went well. The bumper is stout, but not too heavy (weight wise), cheap (300-ish) and came with all the necessary hardware to mount it. That was the really impressive part. They even sent new bolts for the steering box, as though they anticipated the breakage. The bumper lined up with the outsides of the frame almost surgically, it's that snug. I'm willing to bet the guys/gals who made it put some time in double checking their measurements.
All in all, I guess what I'm saying is that I'm very impressed with the product and I'd recommend them to anyone. I'll post some pictures as soon as I get a chance. Plus, they're MADE IN THE USA!

I have one of Nate's bumpers on my XJ as well. I love and it gets a lot of compliments. I got it quite a fews ago now. At least 4. I have painted mine with the rubberized rocker guard and it has held up to the Canadian winters well. The price is right and quality is top notch. Great product and I recommend it to everyone. Its good to see someone giving dues to a product that works great. Sometimes you only see negatives in posts about products.
Cheers

Alot of people have had problems with nates in the past, with all the bad publicity he finally tried straightening everthing out. His shop is about 20 mins from my house. If I ever have the money Ill have him build me a bumper but hes not getting paid till its done.

Exactly my experience. Thousands of excuses and broken promises. Could rarely get him by phone or email. Almost had to cancel a Colorado/Wyoming vacation because of him not getting the tow bar he promised with the bumper to me when he said he would.
Glad the OP had a good experience.

Seems like there might be an ebb and flow to the service at most places.
Perhaps Nate caught on that your reputation actually means something and that people talk. Any way you put it, as of this month at least, things seem to be going right over there. Also, if I'm ordering a product that's being made at a small shop, usually saving me money and keeping the smaller (American) made guys open, I kinda expect it to take a little while. Although, yeah, more than 3 weeks would tweek me.
I'll post some picts soon in case other guys are shopping.
Again, bang for the buck.
First time I take it into a deer at 70, we'll really see how well it's made.
Have fun yall, summer's here!
