Mystery vibration in the steering wheel
I've been lurking for awhile just searching until I solved the problem myself, but this one is driving me crazy. So here are the facts I have a 97 2wd government package with 140k miles on it. I've replaced the following in the last 1500 miles.
Tires-pathfinder suv
Tie rod ends-moog
track bar-moog
lower ball joints-moog
pitman arm-moog
steering stabilizer
shocks-front and rear
rear helper springs
Firestone alignment
It only vibrates around 60 to 65 mph, Its driving me crazy. It's not bad enough to be classified as death wobble but it's bad enough to be irritating. I've got a 45 minute drive to and from work everyday so I want my jeep to be perfect. Any help would be appreciated.

Well I finally figured out after about 20 minutes on my back in the driveway. It seems the upstanding fellows at firestone complete auto care in league city texas neglected to tighten my tie rod sleeves after they aligned my vehicle. Sorry to bother you good folks. Now to deal with firestone.
Edit: also just learned my speedometer is 10mph slow, so now I have to hunt down a Speedo gear

I just put these wheels and tires on Tuesday, and I was having all kinds of issues with the old rims, because one was bent. If tightening everything doesn't help I'll run up to discount and have them re balanced, and by neglected to tighten I mean I could rotate them by hand and physically move the whole tie rod. Also now that I know my Speedo is horribly out of calibration I realize I was actually driving between 65 and 75ish.

As mentioned, at those speeds the culprit is usually wheel/tire related.
A bent wheel can still balance out on a machine, same with a broken belt inside tire or tire out of round.

If you've got your Jeep lifted, you should mention that because that introduces other variables to consider.
You may consider an alternative method to tire balancing...

Y'all were right, I took it to discount and they said they weren't out of balance, so i took it to a local shop and the owner told me it was like they didn't even try to balance them at discount. Drives like a completely different vehicle now. Thanks guys
