Mystery Vacuum canister
I was told that I needed one of these but I don't know how to hook it up. After my Dad ran into it, he just spliced the vacuum lines together and I want to get them hooked back up correctly. I know that it mounts down by the radiator on the passenger side, I just don't know where the vacuum lines go from/to it. Does anyone have a vacuum diagram or know where I can get one?
Thanks,
Brad
Thanks,
Brad

a nite at the improv
ok that thing is part of the evaporative recovery system.. it mounts behind the passenger side of the bumper on mine.. it sopps up vapors coming from the fuel tank .. or something like that.. the haynes manual has a schematic for vacuum lines but isn't real helpful when it comes to routing
the big line goes to the charcoal canister on the firewall and the small line plumbs into the vacuum system. again.. routing.. it's a bear and you may have to get creative.. mine was in a wreck a number of years ago and when it was fixed whoever did the repairs was a real "master" at jimmyriggin.. over the years i have been grabbin replacement vacuum lines at wrecking yards off of jeeps that still have them.. i have noticed changes in routing of the lines between the different model years so improv becomes a real issue and a talent you will have to develop
