My XJ won't run unless you keep your foot on the gas, I've heard a bunch of different answers as to what it could be but I just wanted to get some more input... Your help is greatly appreciated!!!

I am having the same problem right now. I just checked out my fuel pressure and the fuel system does not seem to be the problem.

Check for constant fuel, clean TPS, IAC, CPS, Throttle Body. Check pressure regulator.

When was the last time you did a tune up? plugs, wires, cap, rotor, etc.?

Did these symptoms start up while driving or was it an overnight thing (parked OK at night, next morn had issues)?

I have a pretty lengthy thread going on some similar issues I had and all the things I did to fix the problem.

Def do as Diesel suggested and clean the parts and maybe apply some electrical grease to the sensor connectors. Things heat up and dry up, as well as get dirty, so some cleaning and maintenance could do the trick.

Also, if its been a while since you last did a tune-up, maybe the wires, plugs, cap, or rotor have gone bad. Again, stuff to check.

Good luck! Here's my thread for reference....
