Are my wiper blades supposed to be curved?

I just noticed that my wiper blades are not straight, they are curved. They lay flat and work great but they are arched like this ) )
Is that the way they are supposed to be????

Depending on the blade, it's normal. Some curve is there already. The windshield isn't flat.

they don't curve that way

The curve is not with the windshield, they are curved sideways just like this- ) ) Another way to maybe explain it is that they scoop water off to the side on the upstroke. They work fine but the arms are curved for some reason.
