My radio isnt working!
Very frustrated with my radio. Been trying to figure out this problem for a few days now. I removed my old aftermarket Sony radio that came with my 01 jeep Cherokee sport because it was so crappy, fortunately one of my friends had a stock radio from his exact model xj. I plugged my radio in exactly how It should be and didn't have to change any of the wiring because it had a adapter over the stock wiring harness. When I turn it on the time on the radio comes on but nothing else works. I helped him remove this radio from his jeep a few weeks back and it worked flawlessly. I have tried using a different Chrysler radio I had in my garage and the same thing happened. I've double checked all my wiring and fuses. What can I be missing?

It sounds like you didn't hit the power button or whatever it is on the radio? When the radio is "off" it only shows the clock...then when u turn it on the cd player, am/fm, and cassette should all work.

I think I have removed then promptly driven over, the factory stereo, in every vehicle I have ever owned.
Unless you have a "Sony" that was purchased on a street corner or out of a white van it should be alot nicer the junk factory setup.

Antenna is plugged in. I pressed the power but countless times lol. The time doesn't show all the time I have to press the time button in to view it. Ya I checked both fuse boxes with a light. Lol ya the Sony was horrible, skipped anytime you hit a bump and was ugly as hell but the wiring wasn't rigged it was clean done so I had to troubles. Haven't checked the cigarette lighter ill do that right now.

Do the factory stereos have an interior fuse like the aftermarket ones do? If it does, I would say its fried. Personally I would run fresh power and ground wires. If that still doesn't help with sound, run fresh speaker wires, if that doesn't work I would buy a new head unit. Cuz then you'll have all freshly run wires!!

Take a volt meter and check your plug ins for power. I myself, always run new power leads, Red from head unit to battery. yellow from head unit to a keyed spot on fuse box.
No it doesn't have a amp or solid blue wires hooked up. The only blue wire hooked up is a blue and white wire for a positive lead on one of the speakers. I might have to run fresh wires and see what happens. I tried different head units already and all had the same symptoms. This sucks man I hate driving with silence
Ok I figured out my accessories wire isn't working. I have no idea why. if I wire it to my battery lead it works but I can't keep it like that obviously. So question is why is my accessory lead not getting power when my ignition is on?

It has a bad connection... I would just run a new fresh write to a reliable acc power source then of that doesn't work pull it out, run it over and get a new one
