my plastic fan wont work

The electric fan is only supposed to come one when the a/c compressor is running or when the engine can't keep itself cool with just the clutch fan. Is yours not turning on at all?

I'm also intrested in how it reads temps.
I do not think my gauged cluster is even remotely accurate, new rad, 195 therm also new, fan clutch is fine, moves tons of air, with no hood, the gauge will say its like 220 degrees, but i'll be able to hold onto the rad hoses without issue.
my sensor for the gauge is also brand new. my e fan dosent work, I swapped it to a working on, and it still dosent come on on its own, even when the gauge goes over 220, So I'm also wondering where it reads its temp from to kick on.
my guess is the fan relay is bad, considering there use to be a toggle for the old efan in the jeep. I bought it as someones part vehicle and suckered myself into doing a ground up resto on it. lol
