Smile My new jeep

Hey, how is everyone doing today? I recently traded a 1998 Honda Accord LX for a 2000 Jeep Cherokee Sport. Was this a good trade? Starting from the front of the vehicle the front bumper is dented it, there is cracks in the header panel, right above the center of the windshield on the roof there is a rust spot not a hole just the paint is missing and it is rusted. The fenders are cut on all fenders, the two front fenders are dented in, in the back the lift gate won't open from the outside, the rocker panels are gone and the frames has a few holes in it. Can i fix all these things wrong with it? It has 182k on it which i think is not a lot for a jeep. If anybody could give me some info on what to do with it that would be great. I need it as a daily driver but also something to go trail riding in on the weekends. So any input would be great. Thank you and have a good day.

First off welcome to the jeep community. Hope you know what you got yourself into haha. As long as you know you mpg is always going to be worse than a Hondas then you'll love owning a jeep. As for the condition you got it in sounds like it just needs some TLC. Bad thing about this jeep right of the bat is that it's a 2000. The 00-01 are known for having problems with the head gaskets cracking. (Correct me if I'm wrong) Still not something to scare you away from it though. Doesn't happen to ALL of them. Just it's been most common in those years. For what you can do to it. The rust spot on the roof since its a roof and if it's bothering you you could sand it down and get some similar colored spray paint and clear coat to paint over it. For the fenders being already folded I think you said. Just a preference in look if the guy did the mod I'm thinking of (cut and fold) then just means you can fit bigger tires with out as much rubbing. Could you maybe post any pictures? Is the jeep stock? Hope I helped a little!

Most of the metal work can be done with time, a little money and a lot of TLC. I'm replacing rockers and floors on mine now, as for the frame... Pics would be good. Sounds like the jeep just needs work here and there... Don't they all?

Have fun fixing it up ! Seems like we who fool with old cars need a MIG welder and learn how to use it !
