Default My first motor swap on a 2000 XJ....any tips?

Blew the motor on my 2000 XJ, got another from a salvage yard and going to attempt to put it in myself with a buddy. Never pulled or put in a motor, but I have the Daimler/Chrysler service manual and it lays out the motor removal and installation step by step, just wondering if anyone with some experience has any tips or shortcuts that might make it easier? Thanks

Use some good quality ratchet straps to keep the front end down.

be patient! did one in a 96 that ended up taking way too long. are you doing it in a garage? with a cherry picker? i did mine in my back yard and i dont recommend it. but its not bad. take off the majority of the front clip, bumper grill, header pannel, that way you dont have to lift the motor as high to get it out. oh and make sure you have a long extension for the bellhousing bolts
