my door is falling off
the top hinge on my drivers side door seems to have broken loose from where it connects to the car's frame (not the door, but on the other side of the hinge). Has this happened to anyone else?
when I open my door it drops about an inch and all the weight is thrown on the bottom hinge (can't be good for the one hinge to support all the weight). I'll post pictures when I get a chance to take off the drivers side front fender, but I'm wondering for now if I can take it to a fab shop and just have a guy weld that hinge back into place or if this is something I need to take to the dealership or to a body shop.
Thanks,
Dan

That is a normal problem with a lot of the older XJs. The welds just were not strong enough for the years of abuse that they endure. I see XJs in the junkyards all the time with the drivers side door hanging by the bottom hinge.

yeah man, welcome to the club.
welding would work well, but according to gojeep the dealerships do have something you can rivet it all together with. I'd probably not recommend it though, just get a buddy who welds and make him dinner haha

that link should help you out.
make sure to note that youre welding onto the A frame, not anything else.
bueno suerte amigo
