Default NSS problems

Hi,
I'm new here, I have had many jeeps and built many. After 5 years of no jeeps I needed to get another. I picked up a real clean 2000 jeep cherokee with 176,000, one owner. The guy told me that the NSS just went bad and the code was P0705. I removed the NSS and disassembled it, looked fine. I picked up a new NSS and installed it. I still have no back up lights, so I tried the calibration proceedure and still no back up light. I then removed the NSS and moved the NSS linkage slowly to see if the back up lights worked. Still no lights, I verified the bulbs and they are ok.
I guess I need to start ringing out the wires to find out why there is no back up lights.
I am looking for a wiring schematic for this jeep and some kind of input if anyone has been down this road before. I have 12 volts feeding the switch so maybe there could be a problem with the signal getting to the computer????
Thanks, Mike
