My 89 XJ won't come out of 4wd
it was raining really bad here so I put it in part time 4wd (the light is amber so I assume it is part time 4wd) well when I went into 2wd and I cannot turn worth a damn I have to make wide turns so the jeep doesn't feel like its skipping. This has happened before but itgot out of 4wd before.
I am new to xj's am I suppose to do some sort of combo to get it out of part time 4wd? cause I tried to go to 4H and 4L but the damn handle would not budge.

Engine: Rebuilt 4.0L
What I do:
engage 4x4 while in neutral
disengage at a complete stop, also while in neutral
reverse 10+ feet to fully unlock hubs
Not really necessary, but that's what i do with every 4x4 i own or drive. Don't forget, most vehicles you HAVE to be in neutral in order to go into 4-low.
