97 sport 4.0 5 speed.

Jeep would only crank and not fire. This was a few days ago. Yesterday the jeep decided to fire up and it fluctuated at idle. After driving around a while, the CEL came on. Just pulled the codes and got p0107 for a MAP sensor issue and a p1398 for a CPS sensor error. Could they be related and does anyone have any thoughts on it?

 

I have a '99, and if I remember right, I had pretty much the same problem. CPS went out, replaced it with one from autozone, ran ok, replaced map sensor, no difference. Bit the bullet and bought an OEM CPS sensor, now it runs really well.

 

Check the wiring & connectors for both circuits before replacing anything.
