muffler question
i'm replacing the muffler on my '01 this weekend, so i'm going to ask the stupid question of the week: do i need to use any kind of epoxy at the connections or are the clamps enough to secure a leak-proof fit? I'm doing both the muffler and pipe, using the Dynomax kit.

The clamps should hold it on there for sure, but as far as a leak proof seal they should be good enough to not have any major leak that you could hear while driving or anything but if you want to seal it up tight you can use an epoxy or something to seal it up but i wouldnt unless something goes wrong
I've been looking at that Dynomax kit. I'd be interested in knowing what it sounds like, and whether or not you can feel any power differences.
Also, what the effects to MPG are, real-world.

As for the Dynomax kit, the parts came and exceeded my expectation for the price. Ordered the kit from Summit ($139 or $149, free shipping) and Dynomax has a $75 rebate right now. Total replacement for <$100.
I put the DynoMAX in mine. Sounds good. Power difference not perceptible. Short money after rebate. Lowest price I ever paid for a decent system.
BTW: Double clamped joins will keep it tight-n-right. Butt the clamps side by side against each other with one pointing left and one right (or up and down as fit permits).

My cherry bomb turbo was 20 bucks and I love it. Ive hit a stump ans ripped it off and its not even dented.
As far as the epoxy goes..Ive tired all different kinds none of them work. The best luck ive had are with the areas I welded. And using the High High temp RTV stuff. You can get it at harbor for like 3 bucks.
