99 cherokee shake
99 cherokee
135k
30x9.5r15 tires
lift shocks
no other lifts mods (yet)
i had a bad shimmy at almost all speeds and the u-joint was popping at very low speed turns so i pulled the shaft and put in a used straight one with a brand new u-joint that had been tested by my driveline shop. while replacing the shaft the hub was also bad so i replaced that to. now it shakes at 51-58mph bad its almost death wobble but goes completely away at 59 mph, and it just me not getting picky, im running bigger tires then stock and its a old truck so im not looking for caddy soft.
wondering if any one has any ideas. the wheels are balanced and the wheels are brand new out of box, brakes are good and braking dosent effect the shimmy.

do an alignment, check your caster, too little creates the death wobble. This is assuming the control arms and related bushings are in good shape. Check the control arm attachment points on the axle for cracks as well.
There is a lot to check and specific ways to do it. If you don't understand suspension dynamics and what to look for, entrust the services of a good 4x4 shop.
Too many older Jeeps are neglected, worn out, trashed, and an accident waiting to happen. I've had a '99 since '00 and usually replace things well before thay are worn out. She still handles perfect with a 4" lift, 31x 10.5, at 85mph one hand on the wheel, no hands if the road's straight. I do my own alignments in the driveway with a square, tape and straight edges.
Good luck.

it needs an alignment but i dont think thats the issue. im gonna rotate the tires and see if its a unbalanced wheel, ill look at the suspension condition as well
