Yes you are correct on the way they are built. however the way the sound is different the thrush welded is a cleaner tone. I didnt want a welded cause if you get them wet when there hot the welds holding the baffles break and the muffler is trashed.
wat? the welded mufflers dont come apart. if they did, i dont think flowmaster would sell that many mufflers

Im not saying flowmasters come apart im saying the thrush ones do. Flowmaster and magnaflow are really nice mufflers but they cost more as to the $20 thrush the quality is not the same
the $20 thrush turbo isnt the same as a flowmaster, the thrush one that is similar to the flowmaster runs around ~$45-50
$30- http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku
the $20 is the turbo, that has the baffles in it. the 'welded' is a chambered type muffler, no baffles

Im sorry i mispoke you are right it is a chambered muffler however the walls are welded onto the outer skin then the skin is rolled over and sealed. this is the way the flowmaster 40 and thrush welded mufflers are made. However the tubro does not have this so i dont have to worry about the chamber walls coming apart

Well i installed it tonight and im still kinda on the fence about it. Its a rumble over stock and you def. hear the difference. But its not quite as loud as i wanted it to be. I will get pics and a sound clip tomarrow
It wont be, I got my Jeep thinking it sounded stock come to find out it had a glasspack on it, The stock piping and especially the stock cat kills sound on these. My Friends was cut off right after the stock cat and was still quiet

I ran it out of the cat before putting the new muffler on and it was loud as hell and it sounded terrible. The new muffler is a little louder but it sounds better.
I will make a new thread with the sound clip and pics in a few mins.
