To much power! Alternator?
I recently did some work on my 95 xj. I had to change the negative cable wire and the positive. Clean off both terminals and had the battery tested. Now that I have it working I noticed when I press on the gas the head light/dash light get brighter. Alternator issue? bad wiring? battery voltage meter is about about 11 to 12.5 when idling when it drives it goes to about 14 and staysd there is there an issue?

11-12.5 while idling is too low.
engine off battery voltage should be at least 12.5 and >0.5V (typically more) higher when engine is idling.
