just read up on them the only thing that sucks is that they have half the life of a regular replacement bulb

I much rather get quality over life span. I couldn't see anything with the old lights.

I think it has a lot more do to with the age than the type of bulb. I can't say for sure on the Silverstars but from what I remember reading on the packaging a while back for H4 bulbs, the numbers didn't add up to much of a performance difference. I'd have to compare them to new OEM or new "lower grade" lights. I didn't want to pony up the extra $$ for the silverstars so when i got my XJ I put the Sylvania Xtravision lights in ($5 each) HUGE difference. They aren't supposed to be much better than stock, but since my old lights were of an unknown age (I think they were Sylvanias maybe) but probably old, the new ones were MUCH better. I'd have to put the Silverstars in NOW if I really wanted to see if they were better and compare them to other new lights. Money is tight, so I'll live with what I have. Could hardly see though whe I got the thing.
