Okay but seriously, replace the upstream o2 sensor. Having fresh fluids and filters. Make sure tires have the correct pressure. Making sure you don't have a cracked exhaust manifold. Running Seafoam through the gas tank and intake. And if you're lifted with bigger tires, regear it. That's all I can think of off the top of my head.

youre going to get a lot of opinionated and dumb answers like this. a better intake will help, correct tire pressure, smaller tires, upgraded 4 hole injectors(depending on what year). and the way you drive is a leading cause of low mpg. slow starts and keeping the rmps below 2k on the highways will help.

Cherokee looks like half brick on top of whole brick, so good fuel economy is hard to expect.

You tell him he'll get a lot of dumb answers and then tell him to keep his "rmps below 2k". Okay.

And these 4 hole injectors he is speaking of won't give you an mpg boost. 1 out of 10 people who upgrade their injectors see an increase in mpgs because their old injectors were dirty and gunked up. All you would need to do is run injector cleaner (like Seafoam, as i mentioned already) to see this theoretical mpg or two.

I will agree with you though, where you say that the way drive has a lot to do with mpgs. Slow and steady take offs rather than gunning it from a stop will give you a nice boost in mpgs

If you have an auto tranny = 4.56
If you have a manual tranny = 4.10

dont be afraid of higher RPM's. higher RPM for less gas is a good thing. but 4.56 should set you just above stock. which is perfect
