Higher the vehicle - more drag. More drag - mpg goes down. 19 mpg is average for non lifted, stock tires. Any lift, tire mods bring that down. Thats the downside to a jeep. However tune-ups seem to help a bit.

I don't think that switch does a dang thing. No RPM change between comfort and power on my 90 or 91. I think Jeep put it there to make us think we will get more power LOL.

Actually, there is a difference....
Power raises shift points and doesnt feather the clutches together.
I HATED the way comfort felt/shifted, not to mention the fact that the "comfort" setting is said to wear the clutches faster.
If it wasnt for a dumbass in a camaro I would still be driving my renix, I know what that switch does.

Do a search...

Highway I'd get around 20mpg with my 235s and just a front bumper. never checked later on.

Its my belief that if you are really looking at the gauge that much, you cant afford the car.

But yeah I'd estimate around 18mpg on highway, maybe 15 in the city. as I said i didnt check into it too much.
