Moving seats back?

Moving seats back?
I have one more question about my 1990: I have read about people moving their front seats back to give them some extra room up front and I was curious if anyone knew where to find a good writeup on that? Do I need to plunder a newer seat from a newer XJ or can I just move back what I have? I'm a big dude and a couple extra inches up front would be nice. I guess replacing the steering column with one that tilts/telescopes would be OK too.
