Your tick cold be coming from putting new lifters on an old camshaft. A good practice is to change the lifters and the camshaft as a set.

That could be your exhaust manifold gasket leaking.

I'll check that out. I know I have a leak at the manifold where the pipe meets. Old rusted bolt that won't tighten right.

Well I decided to check them here and the ones I could get to easy were all a turn or more loose. I swear I had them tight before but we were having a hell of a time with the exhaust and intake. I'll check the rest when the temps are above zero. Started it up and it did make a difference with the ones I did get to. Thanks for the help and I'll let ya know if doing the rest works.

Tightened up all the bolts and some of the tick is gone. Also fixed some vacume problems and some how
That quieted things down.

Well its been a while since I've been on here. My Cherokee had been running great. Got new tires and wheels and going to order a lift. Then the motor went. Lots of knocking and smoke. Now to find another one.

That sucks. When you get it out disassemble to find the reason it went.
