I researched tufoil for a long time and decided to get a bottle. Apparently it's the most lubricant substance in the world and in the world record book. It's been around for 50+ years. Just got the bottle, about to put it in, , but has anyone used tufoil before? It would be cool to hear other experiences using cherokees with it. .

I used it in the late 60's when it was introduced and then in all the gun magazines was advertised for them. I used it on slides on auto's and the bolts for lube worked very well for that even in sub zero temps.

As far as for oil in a car never heard of that but never looked either

Meh. I'd stick to a name-brand 10W30 for your 4.0. No need to run any fancy "snake oils". Unless your wallet is feeling heavy and you need to lighten it.

I use CLP on my modern automatic pistols. I have heard of folks using TuffOil on firearms in the past tho. My older ones (Mosin) still get the full Hoppes and RemOil treatment. The AK gets plain old red-n-tacky grease on the rails and bolt grooves.

Thats what I run, mainly because I can source it for cheap and most people seem to like it. No complaints.

Rotella synthetic blend here too. Never leave home without it! lol
I understand Rotella still has old school wear fighting zinc compounds in it. Most run of the mill modern oils do not in order to increase cat converter life.

Its an additive, you still put in your regular oil, BUT add Tufoil to the oil when u change it. It will mix with your oil and help lubrication. I actually like this stuff now.

Though I am not familiar with TufOil, I think it is a PTFE additive. There's a reason DuPont won't let any of them use the "Teflon" brand mark.

Give this a gander: http://www.1expired.com/dura-lube_slick50.htm
