can I put a alternator from a 98 grand cherokee in my 96 is it a direct bolt in?

 

It's the same alt that you allready have unless it's from a V8.Then it's a great swap.You'll have to grind you'r alt bracket cause the ZJ alt is bigger in size also.But ,yes it will work as a direct bolt on after grinding.
