If not, you're having too much fuel and eventually you'll lose compression.

If that's the case, change the HP FPR to the stock one and change your oil ASAP.

For stock 86-99 engines one need the 703/702 OR 701/710/746 with the high pressure FPR.

For 99 and up you need the 784.
Haven't been around in awhile. Only mod is CAI, 2.5" exhaust (cat back), Borla muffler, hi-flo cat, 180* stat. Nothing major.

I originally had the 703 w/49 psi FPR. I could smell the gas coming out the tail pipe at WOT.

I just changed it to the 703 w/39 psi FPR. Gas smell is gone.

It is 4% less as shown below but more efficient. Does that weight out it being lean now? I don't know. Maybe someone will post up. Jeep runs good.

Someone posted this.
91-95
Stock 91-95 flows 234cc@39 psi
703 flow 225 @ 39 psi. That is 4% less- and the injector is more efficient.

Default injectors

I hope I didn't jump the gun on this but I went to the jy and pulled the 703 injectors. I have a 98 ZJ 4.0. I sent them off to be cleaned and flow tested, new screens. The report they sent back said all had the flow of "64" whatever that number indicates. The CC/min were 256 and the lbs/hr was 24.38. Is this a "ok" install for my application? I have to wait to install them until I get the cracked manifold replaced because I think that is already causing the O2 tomake a rich run.

1. the injectors definatly have 0280155703 /(OEM) 5277739. cast into the side of them?
2. Ask the reco guys Did they flow 256cc/ min of local petrol or n-heptain? and at what pressure?

Absolutely. You'll get a smoother idle and better throttle response from the 784's. 849's will give you those and better performance but they're pretty rare.

As I told you before on the other threads, search, search, search. Google is your friend. You should already know where to get the 784's. If you simply want a better injector, go with these.

The 849's are much rarer and are strictly for performance. If you don't have a true CAI then don't get them.

I have a set of 784's and a set 849's I can sell you if you want.

All the "upgrade" pages always say to switch to the 49psi FPR if you run the Ford #19 710 injectors in an older XJ but my personal experimenting in my own Jeep I really saw no difference between running them with the factory 39psi FPR or a 49psi one...Of course my '94 XJ has a '01 intake manifold on it so maybe that screwed to equation.

Cold air intake. This would be a snorkel, k&n full intake, an airaid intake, or a homebrew one that has a heat shield.

The FPR is only needed on Renix XJ's

That's completely up to you. They certainly don't hurt any XJ, including DD's. Biggest question is how much $$ are you wanting to put into it. An Airaid is $200, K&N is $250, ARB snorkel is over $500, and a homebrew is simply cost of materials. There are a bunch of threads in the fab section for cowl intakes that function as a short snorkel that you could build for pretty cheap. Like I said, it's all about how much you're willing to spend. Based on what you've asked and said in other threads, I'd recommend you simply do the 784's. If you decide to go with the 849's later on, you can always sell the 784's at that point.

Anyone know if these are the right injectors for a 97?
It's for a TJ if it matters.
