MJ Reliability
Hi Everyone -
I just purchased an 89 Comanche with 130k miles. It's in pretty good shape. I have been cruising various Jeep forums and this is one of the best I've found. I plan on using my Jeep for extensive back country trips and reliability is huge for me. I found Cruiser54's excellent Renix tips and I am in the process of going through those now. That should go a long way towards reliability. I've seen several threads that lead me to believe that the Renix maybe a little "quirky". Some have suggested keeping certain spare parts in the glove box in case it quits back in the boonies. I'm looking for maintenance and other tips that will get my MJ as close to "bullet proof" as possible. I'm getting too old for long hikes back to civilization LOL!
Thanks in advance.

Carry a CPS and the tools to change it.
Better yet, Replace yours now with a high quality part, do the drill mod on the bracket, and keep the original as a spare.
