I replaced my rear main seal this afternoon and coated the main cap with oil before tightening it down. now im second guessing this move since I don't see it listed in directions. Will this effect the tolerance of main cap.

 

You should be fine, the oil would squeeze out under torque.
Did you grease the lip seals?
