ok so i went wheeling sunday morning, all was well. after i went to home depot, turned the jeep off. started up fine. went to the gas station and turned it off and on 3 times between the car wash, vac'd the jeep out and buying a car wash ticket. after the car was one of my pulleys started to squeek. i went home and sprayed w40 on the pulleys, no luck. so i turned the jeep off and didnt start it again till last night, last night it was running rough, missing and spuddering and sometime surging. i was at my gf's house so i limped it the 20 miles home. took off the distributor cap, there was a little dirt and mud down at the bottom of the distributor, so i took it apart, cleaned it, replaced the cap and rotor. started it back up and its doing the exact same thing as before. im kinda stumped. anything anyone can think of?

when wheeling i was in mud and doing some water crossings but nothing that was high enough to get into my air intake.
