I pulled my front (Dana 30) carrier to I could replace my axle seals, among other things, and it looks like the bolt that holds my cross pin in place is missing. When I had the rear C8.25" diff apart, there was a bolt that secured the cross pin. Here's a pic. The cross pin seemed secure. Does the D30 use a roll pin instead of a bolt or something?

EDIT: Now that I look more closely, it does look like there might be a roll pin in there.

 

Yup, roll pin. If you need to take your "spider" gears out, you just drive that pin out.

 

Thanks for confirming. The carrier was a ***** to get out, so I damn near had a heart attack when I noticed the bolt was "missing."
