Hi
Do all dana 30`s have a roll pin to secure the cross pin or do the later models have the 1/4 " 12 point bolt like the dana 35?

The reason im asking is Im wanting to install a spartan locker in my d30 and dont really want to remove the carrier to do it...

My jeep is a 2000 xj but im guessing that im going to have to pull the carrier and remove the ring gear to knock out the roll pin...

 

pretty sure my d30 has a roll pin. I have a high pinion D 30 in my 98.


I also believe the cross shaft can't be removed due to the ring gear.

Was hoping it was going to be as easy as fitting the locker in my d35..

yup, pull carrier and ring gear. knock out roll pin for cross pin.

 

Its not related to the roll pin or retainer bolt, it's the ring gear that is the problem
