I use the Hantek 1008C oscilloscope with a CC-650 current clamp. Available on Amazon. It will analyze the CPS/CKS and coil signals (above) as well as fuel injectors and oxygen sensors in real time. Go to hantek.com where you can download the software and run in demo mode to see the capabilities.

What's a hillbilly smoke test?

What OBD code reader do you have? Post the data for the fuel trims and see if you can generate oxygen sensor graphs.
