That's what I was thinking... I'm still fairly new to all the mechanic stuff... That shouldn't be a real hard job correct?

Water pump? Nah. You'll have to remove a few things, but it's right on the front of the engine.

Can you tell if it's coming from the front part of the engine or the side? Just wondering because if it's coming from the front. More then likely it's the water pump. If it's coming from the side it could be a freeze plug. Either way it is a fairly easy fix.

Hardest part is loosening the belt tension. At least for me its a pita to get my hands on there. Even with the air box out.

Other than that just make sure the mating surfaces are really clean. If they're not it will leak again, soon. And you be redoing it.

If you asked me I'd say get a new thermostat and therm housing gasket and put it on too, along with a radiator cap if you haven't already.

So, it's towards the back... check heater hoses, heater control valve, heater core...

could be coming from the hoses going to the heater core or the valve, there is usally a valve there I don't have one, but in all the other cherokee's I've seen have one. the Valve cracks easily.

+1 on the heater control valve

Maybe while it was sitting, a critter got up in there and chewed a hose up?

Check the freeze plugs on each side of the block. Mine are leaking and just gonna replace them all.

If it is coming from the heater control valve all you have to do is eliminate it. The manufacturer did just that in the newer models. Everything will work just fine with out it. And it will save you money not to have to replace it.

+2 mine broke when I looked at it sideways. I did replace it because the A/C works better with it in place.
