They're likely SJ axles - a common swap (and only a bit wider than the 60.5" XJ axles. I think they're 63-64"?)

The XJ and ZJ have always had the D30 front. Some South American market XJs came with D44/D44 (a tax thing,) but they also had winches, heavy bumpers, and were essentially compact enclosed work trucks.

I'd happily take a pair of SJ D44s with the correct drop (I don't care whether they're HP or LP,) but I'm stuck for scratch right now. I really want to go D44/D44 under my 88 when I'm refitting it...

*whimper*

I can never find anything like that around here! And I don't care if I have to overhaul them, since I plan to anyhow (I just need straight housings...)

I just don't need anything heavier than 44's, and they're the first axles I'd built (so I kinda have a soft spot in my heart for them...)

usually everything around here is anywhere from 800-1500 just for the rear! $400 even if I have to rebuild them and move spring perches well worth it to me!

wow, so some people need to be schooled, I go to look at a set of "matching D44's" I get there to find out that the front which was in pretty good shape was a D44 but the rear was nothing but a freakin POS AMC 20, really people it doesnt even look like a Dana 44! but I did get the front, now just to find a narrow track 44 for the rear, since the front is a narrow track

^ or a ford 8.8, much easier to find and probably cheaper. I think 8.8's are stronger than d44 anyways and are about the right width
