A 1994 8.25c is NOT an Upgrade, could be considered a DOWN grade.

Better than a D35 on the older jeep slick has. I wanna do the 29 spline upgrade. Will I need a new driveshaft?

Why is that? Even if its 27 spine the axle sizes are almost identical but the 8.25 had a much bigger ring gear. It is a better place to start a build anyhow as far as I can tell.... please explain your reasoning.
