I’m new to this forum and just trying to spend all my money on my jeep...hello jeepers
I bought my 87 Cherokee manual transmission about a month ago and have been investing check after check on this beast. My next and current fix is the dashboard. I have the factory dash, and the only gauges that work is the oil pressure, temp gauge, and the fuel tank gauge (has a faulty wire that sends the actual amount of gas)...I was thinking of replacing the dashboard but I would then end up with a wrong mileage.
Any ideas to fixing this? I’m open to all ideas

well you can find the gauges online, the ones that is broken. and replace them individually, not a hard task. Just have to pull out the dash and unscrew the gauges but careful cause of the pointer can damage easily.
Or you can get a new/ used dash. Is there a reason why your attached to the current mileage?

Do they sell those gauges on quadratec? I guess I don’t mind getting a new or used dashboard but I also don’t want 79k miles on a 197k original miles jeep 😂 just wanna keep things original if that makes sense.

I have seen the gauges off quadratic, Morris 4x4, eBay ( I like to buy electronics or anything this sensitive new) but I bought my instrument cluster from a Cherokee on cragslist... was able to check it all worked.
yes the miles will be off... I think when I bought the jeep I was above 100k, now it's closer to 250k

The first thing to do is determine if it is the sensor or the gauge that doesn't work. If you touch the wire for the sensor to ground and it pegs the gauge, it is the sensor that needs replacing. Second, you can get a used gauge out of a cluster from a wrecking yard and take it apart and replace individual gauges
